Vincent PAULET
Very early internationally recognized, Vincent Paulet’s music has received numerous awards (Académie des Beaux-Arts, SACEM, Banque Populaire Group Corporate Foundation, international prizes in Boston, Kobe, Trieste, Tarragona ...). The catalog now includes about fifty works, performed in most European countries, in the USA, in Canada, in Japan, in Russia ... by prestigious musicians such as Sir Neville Marriner, Lawrence Foster, John Nelson, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Mark Foster, François-Xavier Roth, Laurent Petitgirard, Jean-Paul Dessy, Joël Suhubiette, Catherine Simonpietri, Isabel Soccoja, Florent Héau, Xavier Gagnepain, Olivier Latry, Jacqueline Mefano, Ishiro Nodaïra, Alain Neveux, Bertrand Chamayou, Jonathan Waleson, the quartets Akilone, Parisii, Ravel, Danel, the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lille National Orchestra, the Granada Orchestra, the Paris Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre Colonne, the BBC Singers, the Chamber Choir Les Eléments, the vocal ensemble Sequenza 9.3, the Maîtrise de Notre Dame de Paris, ensembles Alea III of Boston, 2E2M, Musiques Nouvelles, Erwartung, Controverse ...
Most of the records devoted to Vincent Paulet’s music have been hailed by the music press (Choc of Le Monde de la Musique for De profundis, Olivier Messiaen Prize of the Académie du Disque Lyrique for Le Livre de Notre Dame, Diapason d’or and Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik for Hymnes).
As a composer, Vincent Paulet (1962) did most of his studies at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he studied with Serge Nigg and Claude Ballif. His training as an organist (under the direction of Arsène Muzerelle in Reims and Gaston Litaize in Saint-Maur) led him to perform a concert activity, which he ended in 1994 in order to fully devote himself to composition. A resident of Casa de Velázquez (Spain) from 1994 to 1996, he was a visiting professor at the Cursos Manuel de Falla in Granada, a member of international juries for composition, as well as for the SACEM Commission de la Musique Symphonique. Regularly invited by festivals, national stages and conservatories as a composer-in-residence, he currently teaches harmony and orchestration at the Conservatoire de Lille, where he also runs a composition workshop.
